In this fast paced world, it is extremely important to have a workplace mental health strategy to keep employees happy, creative and more productive. I have listed out few important points to consider while designing such strategy. Please go through it and feel free to comment and improvise.

  • 1. Establish means to identify mental health issues including stress. Ensure they are active
    2. Build resilience: Provide awareness and stress management programs
    3. Build resilience: Provide Meditation, Yoga, Pranayama facilities and encourage to practice
    4. Conducting workshops on happy life
    5. De-addiction programs
    6. Care of individuals with mental disorders

  • 1. Ensure an Employee Assistant Program(EAP) is in place
    2. Measures to increase job satisfaction and employee engagement;
    3. Provide an environment that respects and protects basic civil, political, socio-economic, and cultural rights.
    4. Ensure effective communication, transparency, involve people in decision making, ensure a certain level of control/autonomy in his or her workplace
    5. Prevention of work overload and burnout – ensuring work-life balance
    6. improvement of job attitudes – non-abusive supervision, non-discriminative, fair, supportive, inclusive
    7. Measures to reduce co-worker conflicts
    8. Recognizing achievements and rewarding
    9. Employee development programs
    10. Anti-discrimination laws and campaigns, sexual harassment prevention
    11. Social activities to bring people together, and families
    12. Social responsibility awareness: behavior and moral education
    13 Ensuring social welfare schemes are in place

Promoting mental well-being :D at work is like creating a supportive space for everyone to grow, like tending to a garden. A toxic environment though, is like a place filled with negativity that can harm our mental health. We need open communication and support to address this toxicity and create a workplace where everyone feels valued, ready to face challenges, and can truly flourish, both personally and professionally. The aim is to create a workplace where employees feel valued, equipped to navigate challenges.

So to implement well-being programs that act as fertilizer for mental health. We must take wellness initiatives eg. mindfulness sessions, or flexible work :geek: arrangements contribute to a supportive ecosystem that values employees' mental and emotional health.
